Mean diameter of coil = 0.14 m
Mean radius of coil = 0.07 m
Value of horizontal component of Earth’s magnetic field:

  1. H1 = 3.24 x 10^-5 tesla
  2. H2 = 3.2 x 10^-5 tesla
  3. H3 = 3.14 x 10^-5 tesla

Mean value of H = 3.19 x 10^-5 tesla

Result:
Experimental value of H = 3.19 x 10^-5 tesla
Actual value of H = 3.2 x 10^-5 tesla
Difference = 0.01 x 10^-5 tesla

    @Bhavika: No problem. :) I knew loads of people would be needing this data…I thought I could help them out. Anyway, getting two more reading might be problem, because I’d be going to school now only on the day of the practicals…I don’t think it’ll matter really, because our teacher (physics HoD) said four readings were enough.
