EML students aren’t called for counselling. They only become eligible for applying to IIST and IISER. Also, forget about ‘effective rank’ becoming higher. It doesn’t happen since people fall head over heels to take whatever they get at IITs / NITs.

@Jadzia: No idea about BIT Mesra (Ranchi). But with an AIEEE rank of 18k you could probably get into some NIT. Maybe not in the first list, but later on – as people who get in through JEE to the IITs, the extended merit list students, plus those who get into BITS Pilani etc – the ‘effective’ rank increases. So you could probably get into some NIT with ECE, but may have to wait a while.

cud u plz tell me if iit’s actually hold counsellin for the extended merit list students….?

Admission to BITS is not done on the basis of AIEEE, it’s done on the basis of their own BITSAT exam.
