@Rach: Dude, still, listen to the stuff. It seems like a 32kbps MP3 file of a Nintendo soundtrack being pumped through Dolby Digital speakers. NOT good.

@ankur: williams has always been connected with the traditional orchestra, with almost no electronic interference, and still comes up with good music. but in this movie, the music is really VERY bad...not the quality of the music, but the themes themselves. Even the swashbuckling Indiana Jones theme is hardly reprised, and that one was one heck of a theme!!

The soundtrack of the this sequel of Indian Jones sounds as bad as some 80s Nintendo soundtrack. It is so...80s. I can understand that John Williams might have had less sophisticated electronic score composers, or heck, good sound recording equipment (compared to today's level) - but playing Nintendo soundtrack on Dolby / THX certified systems must be pure torture.

I also did not see any of the previous Indy films, I went purely because of the hype. I wasn't exspecting much and I agree the ending was quite ridiculous.

The beginning I found quite interesting that is until they focused a great deal of time on the two characters Indy and Mutt. I had a heck of a time staying awake - that is until the jungle scene. That was a complete riot and worth the price of admission.
I was quite impressed with that actress Cate Blanchette, she was terrific.
