The DUMBEST ads ever

Filed Under (Linux Rules, Mad Ads, Tech Takes, The Evil Empire, Vidddeos) by Ankur on 21 September, 2008

T’ dumbest ads ever. Moreover, they actually seem t’ think these ads be ter cool. This be a call t’ arms for all fellow open-source lovin’ brethren out thar - register t’ email addresses o’ ALL t’ people whose email ID be listed (especially BG, but then, he’d probably have a whole fuckin’ department t’ handle t’ mails on that ID) in as many spamme sites as you can. Pr0n ones will be preferrable, especially in case o’ BG.

  1. I laughed my head off, they’re spending 300 million for this shit? Oh, I heard they canceled the soft and chewy one’s with Seinfeld because the ice breaker wasn’t working. Hmm I wonder why, maybe it’s due to the fact that most people outside tech don’t give a damn about the, improbable, scenario of Seinfeld meeting Gates in a Shopping mall while shopping for soft and chewy shoes. Oh, and it may also be due to the fact that no one wants to see Bill Gates wiggle his butt at the end of a commercial, ewww.

Oh yeah there’s also one more thing that’s missing; you need something to advertise don’t you? I mean, at the end of the day almost all of the Mac vs. Pc ads revolve around a specific Mac feature. Advertising can’t do much for you if you don’t tell the marketing guys what to advertise.

Can you hear that delicious resounding d’oh coming from Ballmer’s room in Redmond?

  2. By the way see this.

  3. @Anuj: Exactly. They *have* no product to market. Doesn’t even talk of any *feature* where Windows trounces Mac, or other OSes. We already know there are millions of people across the globe using Windows. They don’t need ads to tell us that. Maybe that’s all they can do, because they don’t *have* any features to talk about.
