HT India Quotient Quiz

HT India Quotient Quiz

Heritage India Quiz 2008 regional and national finals are coming up soon, so I thought it’s the best time to put up some resources related to it. First is a relatively simple stuff that Hindustan Times published (click on the image to view full size version).

The second is the Heritage India Quiz prelims database that me and some other DPS VK Quiz Club members compiled. It contains questions from the past few years of the Heritage India Quiz prelims. Not all of the questions are answered, but this should regardless be helpful for the prelims since HIQ repeats a lot of questions in the prelims. The database is an OpenOffice.org database; to open the file you need the free OpenOffice.org office suite which you can download from here. Use the ‘Form’ view for easier viewing.

About the regional / national final levels. A lot of it is audio-visual, so be prepared for those kind of questions. I kinda think that the Penguin India Quiz Book series is quite useful for this particular quiz because in it you’ll find the sort of questions which come at HIQ. The earlier editions of the series, that is.

n yes….the questions in the *PRELIMS* are repeated a lot of times. that’s why i only do the previous year’s written papers before the prelims.
the finals are easy/hard…depends. we missed out last year by a whisker.
waiting earnestly to meet DPS VK at new state academy….:p

@Agrim: Dude, your school must be *spending* a lot – and taking quizzing *seriously* – to hire Quizcraft. They’re really expensive!

@ankur : may i correct myself. with lucky i didn’t necessarily mean *free* but at a concessional fee…

@Chirag: *Practically* free. They charge around 1.5 lakh starting from small school quizzes. Bet you guys don’t pay that much – and most of it anyway goes in organization / prizes.

Thanx Ankur . Yaa , we defaeted DPS VK in Regional Semis and also DPS Rohini in Regional Finals . It was a thriller quiz with two great competitors , enjoyed it a lot . :) Even Additya told that it was the most interesting Regional Final he had done this year .

In the National Semis next day , we lost to Kerala school and Anandalaya , Anand which eventually win the quiz and came 2nd in Finals

Yaa , ankur , quite unexpected dat Girls won the Quiz . They also scored highest points in the National semis with 140 points , they were a brilliant team .

All Right the Girls were really god in their group and among the finalists too they were hovering around actually being 1st and 2nd.But it must be remembered that there were too many qs from Rajasthan /related to Rajasthan in the finals……
But still they won so congrats to them :)
    Next year…..

@Ajey: Nah, VK didn’t. I heard that the city finals left too much to luck, as it was just 15 questions on the buzzer. City finals got over in 10 minutes! National finals were good though. Yes, CBSE Intel Science Quiz was stopped because of sponsorship issues. So Ishaan won it when he was in 9th? That’d be 2005. CBSE Intel and HIQ were held at the same time, and I’d qualified for both. I chose to go for CBSE Intel and won it. I guess Ishaan won in some other part of the city at the same time. :)
