Not-So-Frequently Asked Questions (NS-FAQs) about the author of this blog

Every once in a while, some soul on the Web comes across this blog and wishes to find out more about the author. Congratulations! You seem to be such a soul! Here are the most common not that frequently asked questions (and stock answers)…

Who…are you?

My name is Ankur Banerjee. I am a twenty-something male Earthling. I grew up in New Delhi, spent a while in Singapore, and now live in the UK. I live by the Sith Code.

Where do you work?

I currently work with Accenture Technology Solutions based in London. I am a graduate from the University of Surrey and I did my degree in Electronics & Computer Engineering. I also went on a year-long study exchange to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and did an internship at an electronic design automation company in England. I have previously worked in various capacities at NTU Singapore, USP Media, Surrey Centre for Excellence in Professional Training and Education, The Stag, MAD TV, Spectrum TV, and Voicetap.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Blogging, of course, as you may have already figured out. I am big on travelling – for me, it is both about the journey and the destination – and I seek unique experiences.  Quizzing is one of my big passions too, which is why along with a few other prominent quizzers I started gyaan.in. I like reading books and am a huge fan of Douglas Adams and his Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – in all its forms, whether it be the novels, the radio series, the film, the TV series, the game, the site, the radio scripts…or the towel. I am strongly passionate about open-source technologies – be it on the desktop or the Web – and have been supporting community events for years now. I am a voracious reader of books and probably will read anything that comes my way. (My greatest regret about university life is that it leaves little time for pleasure reading.) My music tastes veer towards alternative/indie rock, jazz, female vocalists, and (neo)classical. As for movies I watch everything: action/thrillers, horror, sci-fi, (geo)political dramas are my favourite genres, and I hate rom-coms. I have a tattoo on my left forearm in Japanese that reads ’42′, one on the back of my neck which is a minimalistic symbol of The All-Seeing Eye, and a third on my wrist of the infinity symbol. I frequently engage in saving beautiful monsters from ravening princesses.

How do I get in touch with you?

I used to have a contact form link here, but it’s too much hassle to trawl through spam submissions. If you want to get in touch with me about any questions you have regarding my blog posts, advertising, permission to use my work beyond the Creative Commons licence restrictions et al then you can email me at mail-at-ankurb-dot-info (replace ‘.’ and ‘@’ at appropriate place). You can also follow me on Twitter; I usually reply to any mentions sent to me within one day. I used to accept friend requests from everyone on Facebook earlier but no longer do so. If you still want to add me, do attach a note to your friend request mentioning who you are. :)

What is your greatest personal weakness?

Chocolate chip ice-cream
