Who…are you?
My name is Ankur Banerjee. I am a twenty-something male Earthling. My hometown is New Delhi, India which is where I live (without any pets) when I am not at university in Guildford / Singapore. I live by the Sith Code.
In case you’re a visitor from an alien planet, I will quite happily take you to Our Lizard. (I have been trained for this situation.) Also if you’re an alien visitor surfing the Web and get ‘tempting offers’ from a guy in Ougadougou, politely decline.
Where do you work / study?
I am a university undergraduate studying Electronics & Computer Engineering at the University of Surrey, Guildford, currently on a year-long study exchange at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I am an alumnus of Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
As an undergraduate I am not currently employed, but I have worked in various capacities with USP Media, Surrey Centre for Excellence in Professional Training and Education, The Stag, MAD TV, and Voicetap.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Blogging, of course, as you may have already figured out. Quizzing is one of my big passions too, which is why along with a few other prominent quizzers I started gyaan.in. (You can also check out my Quiz Blogs Mega RSS Feed). I like reading books and am a huge fan of Douglas Adams and his Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – in all its forms, whether it be the novels, the radio series, the movie, the TV series, the game, the site, the radio scripts…or the towel. I am a voracious reader of books and probably will read anything that comes my way. (My greatest regret about university life is that it leaves little time for pleasure reading.) My music tastes veer towards alternative/indie rock, female vocalists, (neo)classical, opera, and metal. As for movies I watch everything; action/thrillers, sci-fi, (geo)political dramas are my favourite genres, and I hate rom-coms. I frequently engage in saving beautiful monsters from ravening princesses.
